Understand Your Risk Factors
⚠️ Diabetes
High blood sugar can damage blood vessels, leading to poor circulation and an increased risk of non-healing wounds.
⚠️ High Blood Pressure
Increased pressure on the arteries can contribute to blockages, reducing blood flow to vital areas of the body.
⚠️ High Cholesterol
Excess cholesterol can lead to plaque buildup in the arteries, restricting circulation and increasing the risk of vascular disease.
⚠️ Smoking
Tobacco use weakens blood vessels and accelerates arterial blockages, significantly increasing the risk of vascular complications.
⚠️ Family History of Vascular Disease
If close relatives have had conditions like peripheral artery disease (PAD), aneurysms, or blood clots, you may have a higher risk.
⚠️ Sedentary Lifestyle
Lack of physical activity can slow circulation and contribute to vascular issues over time.

Vascular Specialists Dispel Internet Myths About Varicose Veins

I have been living here for a few months and I love the friendly staff and residents. We have a lot of activities available and one of my favorite things to do is movie night together.

My mom moved there two years ago and is very happy there. The staff is pleasant, helpful and caring and they treat him like family. The management does a good job of keeping us informed on matters related to the facility and any impact on residents.

I am so glad I could move in after several years of living alone and caring for a large house. I have many friends now to talk to and participate in activities with.

They were the best for us. I wish my loved one had moved there sooner. They have great activities. The care they give to the residents is fantastic. The food was good for our loved one.
“It is important to seek timely treatment as delays can lead to complications or more invasive procedures. At VEC Specialists, we prioritise early diagnosis and personalised care to support your recovery.”

Frequently asked questions
What are your consultation charges?
Can I use insurance or MediSave?
Yes. Most procedures with a TOSP (Table of Surgical Procedures) code are eligible for MediSave and insurance claims. Our staff will guide you through the claims process and pre-authorisation to help reduce out-of-pocket costs.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. You can book an appointment directly with us. If you have prior scan results, lab reports, or referral letters, please bring them along for a more thorough consultation.
Can I seek a 2nd opinion?
Absolutely. If you’ve been diagnosed elsewhere and would like a second opinion on your condition or treatment plan, our specialists are happy to assist.
What to expect during my consultation?
Your doctor will review your symptoms, medical history, and any existing test results. Further tests, such as imaging or blood work, may be advised. You’ll also receive a personalised assessment and treatment plan.
Are keyhole (minimally invasive) surgeries offered?
Yes, our surgeons offer laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery when suitable. This minimally invasive approach typically results in smaller incisions, reduced pain, faster recovery, and a shorter hospital stay.
